Built as the Manville and McCarthy Hardware and Miners Supply Company, this has been Western Hardware since 1920 and a fine example of an old-time hardware store. The two-story brick building has a cast iron storefront, bracketed cornice, and paired windows with segmental arches. Inside, in the north wall under a dentiled cornice, are more than 1,000 tiny drawers that offer a fortune in fixtures. The original counters, nail bins, and hardwood floors survive, as do the 15-foot ceilings of the full basement and first and second floors.
