Designed by a local architect for the downtown's busiest intersection, the former bank is a two-story buff-colored brick building with full-height pilasters, a cast-stone molded cornice with modillions, and a brick parapet. Its austere character is enhanced by elegant window surrounds with cast-stone sills and lintels and arches with keystones. The building incorporates a slightly projecting corner pavilion with ground-story entrances embellished with segmental-arched pediments supported by scrolled consoles and upper-story paired arched windows. This prominent building now houses a museum of local history.
