1870s–1890s. Southwest side of West Run Rd. (Monongalia County 119/17), .1 mile southeast of the intersection with U.S. 119, 1 mile west of the intersection of 119 with Interstate 79 at Exit 7. Northeast of Morgantown

Appearing like something Currier and Ives might have depicted, this late-nineteenth-century mill is clad in board-and-batten siding, painted red. The trim is painted white. Inside is a veritable maze of belts, pulleys, and other assorted mill equipment that defies logic for the neophyte but obviously made sense to the miller. The operation, apparently steampowered (rather than water-powered) from its inception, is a beautifully preserved example of state-of-the art technology of a century ago. The Monongalia County Historical Society acquired the property in the 1970s and maintains it as a museum.
