The most prominent house in Mount Jackson was built for a milling company owner. The Queen Anne frame house of irregular massing has a tall hipped roof, bays, a wraparound porch, and two turrets, one of which is domed. A variety of window shapes, brackets, turned posts, and a spindle frieze make for a lively effect. Typical of houses that become funeral homes, it is painted white.
