Frank Russell White made no concessions to Sheridan Circle's shape in his imposing and massive limestone house for developer Harry Wardman. Its rectilinear form and details are derived from Italian Renaissance palace models: channeled rustication on the ground level surmounted by two floors with regularly spaced windows. However, the Wardman house lacks the grace of its antecedents, with large windows more at home on a school or factory and decoration thin and minimal.
