1870s, Emil S. Friedrich. 321–323 East Capitol SE

This pair of neighboring row houses would seem to be Greek Revival in style, even though they were not erected until the 1870s. Very outmoded for their time with their denticulated cornice and austere appearance, they were designed by an architect who had worked as an architectural draftsman for Robert Mills in the early 1850s.
