Blackstone's earliest structure is this picturesque rambling building which was constructed in several phases. The c. 1790 central section, with exterior-end stone and brick chimneys and a porch extension, is joined to the early-nineteenth-century north addition and to the c. 1840 south addition by a hyphen. The south addition has a shed addition with an odd, stumpy little stone and brick chimney. The upper levels of the three sections are all lit by gable dormers on the front and rear. The tavern is now headquarters for the Chamber of Commerce and houses a local history museum.
