Just around the corner from St. Peter's on Caswell Street is a former Baptist church (now a residence), which retains an extravagantly bracketed entrance porch, topped by a sculptural tower. Bulbous shingled elements call up the shapes and textures of basketry. A bell shape pops from the slope of the porch roof, making a delightful transition to a cupola for the bell, all topped by a steeple.
