What was planned as a cottage compound ended up as a single-family house which has been considerably altered and surrounded by other shingled condominium units—thereby finally becoming something like what it was originally intended to be. Immediately to the left of the entrance, the later shingled garage, with attached caretaker's house, particularly well composed, retains more of its original character than the main house.
