Ephrata chose to take a modern direction for its library, using Philadelphians H2L2, the successors to Paul P. Cret's firm. This is a remarkable mishmash that owes more to Robert Venturi than classicism and with a little of this and a little of that added for inspiration. Nonetheless, it is an effective antidote to the cult of history in the region and offers hope for the future.
