Originally a grocery store, the Hardwicke House is one of the best examples surviving from Silver City's nineteenth-century commercial corridor. Built on a steep slope, it has one story on its front facade and two at the rear. A coursed ashlar facade rises to a stepped parapet; side walls are rougher random-coursed stone.
