The Old Washoe Club was one of the most celebrated commercial establishments in Virginia City. The brick building housed the club as well as Con Ahern's Capital Bar, both popular drinking establishments for prominent Comstock residents. The large building also featured a stock brokerage, a stationery store, and a hardware store. A rooming house occupied the second story, and the third story contained office space. The building's facade has mass-produced, fireproof ornamentation, including a metal cornice with brackets and dentils and a cast iron facade. Like most other commercial buildings on C Street, it has a one-story porch covering the wood sidewalk below.
