1897, Thomas P. Barber. 116–118 N. Tejon St. (NR)

The parapet of this brick building was removed and the sandstone trim chipped back flush for the 1968 addition of a rock aggregate veneer. Restoration fourteen years later replaced the lost sandstone trim with pink concrete and reinstated the eight-foot-tall curvilinear parapet, complete with date stone. Storefronts have been restored and large awnings added. The resurrected lobby and original oak staircase are once again lit by the original skylight. Built by rancher and investor David DeGraff, this was an early home for the YWCA and later became offices and retail space.
