These houses were built about 1915 for the B. M. Behrends Company. B. M. Behrends was a merchant and banker, with some real estate investments, and these houses were probably also built for mine workers. Similar in scale to the 500 block, they are one-story front-gable houses with vestibules. They are set at a slight angle to the street, however, creating a more varied streetscape.
