This owner-occupied duplex with its sculpted and tinted stucco exterior is known as Casa de Sueños (“House of Dreams”). The exterior is the work of Mexican American artist and builder Briones, who brought the decorative technique from Mexico in the 1920s. The garden contains faux bois concrete objects. Briones worked with San Antonio faux bois artist Dionicio Rodríguez on his Memorial Cemetery project in Memphis in 1935 before settling in Austin.
