Locally known as SoCo, S. Congress Avenue is home to some of Austin's slightly off-beat businesses. In the midst of an odd assortment of architecture is Fire Station No. 2, a staid reminder of the city's program to integrate fire stations into residential neighborhoods without being obtrusive, hence the Tudor Revival building in buff brick.
