Sited on a low bluff overlooking the Colorado River, this small brick central-hall-plan house is now engulfed by recent high-rise commercial development. The decorative front porch may be a late-nineteenth-century alteration, though overall it is representative of vernacular houses of Central Texas. The renovation of 2008 houses one of Austin's premier farm-to-table food movement eateries.
