Also known as Chateau Bellevue or the Harvey and Catherine North House, this house is one of the grandest in the neighborhood as it appears to rise from the cliff overlooking Old West Austin and Lady Bird Lake in the distance. In 1894, Alfred Giles of San Antonio turned the house into its castlelike appearance. The rusticated limestone construction and arches make it Romanesque Revival, a rare style of architecture for residences in Texas.
