Gutsy Colonial Revival elements—notably an oversized swan's-neck pediment over the entry porch, a Palladian window in the pedimented attic gable, and almost obscenely large dormers marching down the side elevation—contrast with an even more prominent polygonal Queen Anne corner tower in this large brick house. Patton noted in a 1907 advertisement that he had designed a house at the corner of Ann and 11th streets. Judging from his known works, many of which have similar bold features, this house must have been the one he meant. Louis R. Roberts, its owner in 1920, was an oil producer.
