These unusual frame houses are among the earliest in the district. Charles Deming apparently first built the jaunty, three-bay, bracketed Italianate front portion of the house at number 1117. A later Shingle Style, gambrel-roofed addition (best seen from the south) nuzzles up to the original rear elevation in an altogether unseemly manner. Both sections have ample porches.
