Blossom Dairy Company
c. 1938. 904 Quarrier St.

This Art Deco establishment announces itself with a Vitrolite marquee with perfect period lettering. Inside, the original streamlined soda fountain and counter remain. Formerly housing a purveyor of ice cream and dairy products, the building now accommodates an upscale restaurant whose fare eclipses the sundaes and banana splits of yore. This is the older of two popular Art Deco eateries remaining in downtown. The Quarrier Street Diner (c. 1947), a block away at 1022, has a complete facade of burgundy-colored Vitrolite and also maintains original interior fittings.
