This rugged stone former bank draws on Romanesque Revival in its arched openings and textural qualities and on Beaux-Arts Classicism in its strong horizontal divisions and pediment, which is oddly set below a parapet that once featured urns. As in a number of Martinsville's corner lot buildings, this one had an open canted corner, with entrances on both sides, which is now enclosed.
