Langley came to Scranton as an employee of Little and O’Connor, the New York City firm then designing Scranton's Central High School (
LK22). He stayed to build an independent practice in Scranton, and his distinctive Tudor Revival homes soon became a feature of the city's elite neighborhoods. Built for financier George Catlin, this is a quintessential Langley version of Tudor, overlaid with Craftsman details; it is administered by the local historical society as a house museum.
