The one-and-one-half-story stone cellar about ten feet behind the main house contained the large quantities of food necessary to feed the family and the hired hands on the ranch. The sandstone for the walls, from the Nevada State Prison quarry in Carson City, is laid in random courses and mortared with thick grooved joints. The building also has a sandstone floor and screened storage cabinets to store perishable goods.
