DeLongchamps designed a single-story courthouse in the Beaux-Arts Classical style for Douglas County after officials decided to move the seat of government from Genoa to Minden. Opened on New Year's Day 1916, the building cost $25,000, equivalent to $439,148 today. It has a raised concrete basement, walls of beige-colored brick, and an open concrete staircase leading to a portico with four Ionic columns. Pairs of simple brick pilasters terminate both ends of the portico. A denticulated cornice with full entablature supports a brick parapet capped with concrete. Glass and wooden doors lead to an entry hall decorated with black marble wainscot. In 1956 DeLongchamps designed an addition to the north side of the once symmetrical courthouse. Eight years later the county built an addition to the south side. These extensions exaggerate the broad, lowlying massing of the original design.
