Carson Valley Improvement Club

1912. 1606 Esmeralda Ave.

Anchoring one end of Minden's old downtown commercial district along Esmeralda Avenue, the Carson Valley Improvement Club has always been a meeting place for the town's residents. The two-story brick building measures 50 by 105 feet. Four piers divide the facade into three bays. The central bay, containing the main entrance, rises to a parapet. Decorative brickwork above the windows and along the cornice ornament the building. A sign reading “C.V.I.C.” is recessed in the parapet. An electrified sign with the same letters rises on a metal frame above the building.
