Porter and Lockie applied sparse classical details to a cubic form in an unusual manner, with slender colonnettes marking the corners, an equally thin twisted rope molding outlining the arched doorway, and shallow anthemion friezes above ground-story windows and enlivening the entablature. The result is a building with Spanish overtones strongly influenced by European modernism.
