This weatherboarded Colonial Revival cottage won a national Most Well Constructed House contest sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens in the 1930s. The three-bay one-and-a-half-story house has a centered doorway with a transom, a projecting one-bay front ell, a cross-gabled roof, gabled dormers, and a picket fence, and is indeed carefully built.
