For many years this picturesque frame building that is now a residence provided almost everything needed by its small community—stage stop, tavern, groceries, hardware, barber/dentist, blacksmith shop at the rear, post office, and, later, a telephone exchange. The older one-story section has shed dormers and two doors on the front indicating its dual purpose as a residence and a commercial building. The two-story addition was built as a general store.
