In Lovingston's predominantly nineteenth-century setting, the Health Department is an unexpected element. Probably designed by a PWA architect, the Moderne concrete building is one story over a raised basement and has a flat roof, bands of grouped windows, simple iron railings, a tower-like corner entrance, and a frosted-glass transom above the entrance. The building was demolished in 2013–2014.
