Among the town's best commercial buildings are those that combined two or three stores in unified Renaissance-inspired facades with residential floors above. Hite's Clothing Store and adjacent structures occupy such a block. The building is divided into three sections, two built in 1910 and the third, identical in style, was added in 1917. Each section is articulated by pilasters and each section on the upper floor has four round-headed windows below an elaborate brick cornice and a diminutive, central pediment displaying the dates of construction. Large display windows, transoms, and angled recessed entrances define the first story.
