1811. 73 Division St.

The William Card House is a three-quarter house with the very refined detailing characteristic of the Federal style and windows framed almost flush with the clapboarding. Visually the near-flush effect enlarges the apparent size of the window by making it more integral with the plane of the wall, in contrast to the typical eighteenth-century treatment, which projects the window out from the wall, making wall and window opposed elements in separate planes.
