Documentation on at least a portion of this commanding gambrel-roofed house with fanlighted entrance goes back to 1714, although later rebuilding probably brought it to what we now see. Each of its broad, brick-walled ends contains a pair of chimneys, with fireplace placement clearly indicated in side elevations which are as forcefully organized as its front elevation.
