This Beaux-Arts monument to Babbitry continues to proclaim the ambitions of Scranton's nineteenth-century boosters. The eight-story limestone-clad building is crowned by a double-gabled roof, itself surmounted by a superb early electric sign proclaiming Scranton's “Electric City” moniker, reflecting its status as one of the first cities in the country to be electrified.
