c. 1940. Northeast corner of Locust St. and Iowa Ave.

The Streamline Moderne style was used here to provide a shell for a two-story corner commercial block. The street corner of the building on the second floor is curved and is accompanied by a pair of narrow vertical glass-brick windows. Toward the right side the parapet of the two-story section of the building curves down to the adjacent single-floor storefronts. The present storefronts appear to be later modifications of the original design, but the block still reads as a white Moderne object that seeks to project one into the new age.
