The small village of Old Somerset has been bypassed by Virginia 20 and sits isolated. The Christian Church, virtually intact, is a small Italianate structure of wood, very different from most Virginia churches of its date. Well maintained, the interior has a rear gallery, original pews decorated with wood graining, and a shallow, triple-arched chancel.
