Berry Hill was constructed for Reynolds Chapman, who knew both Phillips and Crawford; at the time they were working for Jefferson at the University of Virginia. Berry Hill resembles Pavilion VII, with the addition of a service wing. The main structure is a pedimented block with a single-story arcade supporting a portico that was originally open but later enclosed.
