George Hurlburt, one of the bachelor miners who discovered the Bachelor-Syracuse Mine, built this one-story cottage. After his 1894 marriage he transformed it into a spacious Queen Anne dwelling with touches of elegance—parquet floors, the balustraded porch, and a fine wrought iron fence.
