1890, Alfred S. Eichberg. 226–228 E. Huntingdon St.

Built for businessmen Irwin S. Tiedeman and George W. Tiedeman (who later served three terms as Savannah’s mayor), this prominent double house celebrates architect Eichberg’s skills in using brick, terra-cotta, and granite as decorative mediums to create many different surface textures and patterns. Additional variety comes from contrasting corner towers and an assortment of chimney turrets enlivening the skyline.
