Helmut Jahn of Chicago designed this two-story, 187,000-square-foot building of reinforced concrete with a white-painted aluminum skin that makes it easy to find on a red brick campus. The interior space is organized into 30-foot-square bays by circular concrete columns, and enhanced by two interior courtyards, three open stairways, and large window areas. Windows on the south and west walls have adjustable aluminum sunscreens that add to the horizontal feel of the structure and contribute deep shadow lines.
