1888, Frederick A. Hale. 1982, restoration, Edward D. White, Jr. 1439 Court Pl. (NR)

The last remnant of a residential neighborhood, this two-and-one-half-story, side-hall Victorian town house stands alone amid asphalt parking lots. Hale, who began his career in Frank Edbrooke's office, used rosy
sandstone in random ashlar with carved stone trim for the facade of the red brick house. The original wooden cornice, with a recessed panel frieze, is topped by a roof-top balustrade above the slate roof. In 1982 Denver's best-known defense attorney, Walter Gerash, restored the house as law offices.
