John Henry Bowman, a silver-mine owner, built this two-story frame residence with Italianate and Queen Anne touches. The L plan wraps a square entry tower at the inside corner. Wood trim is particularly profuse on the porch, including unusual spoolwork and a hooded dormer with a double sunburst. Purchased in 1974 and restored by Historic Georgetown, Inc., the property also now houses two transplants, a log trapper's cabin (1860s) and the Tucker-Rutherford Miner's House (1870s).
