1883. 511 6th St.

The oldest continually operated business in town was begun by Henry Kneisel. Grand-daughters of Emil Anderson, Kneisel's son-in-law, still operate this old-fashioned general store behind the one-story, red brick storefront with an ornate frieze, corbeling, and metal cornice. Kneisel, as mayor of Georgetown, oversaw installation of the sandstone sidewalks and City Park.
