1865. 1019 Spruce St. (NR)

Believed to be the oldest residence in Boulder, this two-and-one-half-story, front-gabled, New England–type Farm-house is constructed of local fieldstone. Frederick A. Squires, first president of the Boulder City Town Company, lived here with his family and that of his brother-in-law, Jonathan A. Tourtellot. The Tourtellot and Squires Addition, roughly from 8th to 11th between Pearl and Pine, was platted in 1870. The house, with minimal exterior changes, is now offices.
