c. 1745. 1885, addition. 5620 S. 3rd St. Open to the public

Tucked into a subdivision, the John Ball House includes an original one-and-one-half-story section, constructed of logs and with a rare surviving clapboard roof. Consisting of one room on the ground floor, it exemplifies the unpretentious dwellings of many of the early settlers. The two-story wing dates from 1885. The house is maintained by the Arlington Historical Society.
