El Campo's “painted lady” is the brilliantly colored former J. B. Holloway House, an exuberant, two-story house especially noted for the decorative curved framing members on its L-plan front gallery. Opposite at 312 Depot Street is the First Presbyterian Church of 1950 by native son C. A. Johnson.
