Located in Sherwood Forest, one of the first post–World War II subdivisions in the Memorial section west of Memorial Park, this steel- and wood-framed house has the feeling of a tree house set on the ground. The San Antonio architects designed the house in section, using a steel-panel wall system to close off the west-facing street front while shed roofs shield walls of glass that look into the surrounding woods. The house is especially notable for the delicacy and refinement of its diagonal struts and braces.
