1923–1925, Fred Crowther. Union St. at intersection with Park Ave.

A well-studied academic composition by a Charleston architect, this buff brick neoclassical church facing the Confederate monument conjures images of the Roman Baths of Caracalla or Diocletian, or at least a diminutive version of them. It has a central recessed Corinthian portico above which, resting on the entablature, is a broad-arched, or Diocletian, window. The triple division of the window follows the vertical lines established by the columns.
