This simple, gable-roofed frame mill stands on the tall stone foundations of a much earlier structure. Its chief claim to fame is its phenomenal iron overshot waterwheel, one of the world's largest. The 40-foot-diameter wheel dates from 1891. Water from Town Run, dammed a short distance upstream, provided power. In 1941 according to the WPA guide, two millers still produced “flour and oldfashioned water and burr-ground corn meal.” The former mill now serves as a residence.
