The Log Cabin Service Station was one of Glenville's early-twentieth-century landmarks. Dating from 1928, it had been reconstructed from an earlier two-story log building. Its owners decided to modernize at the same time Cedar Creek State Park needed an office, so with community support and help, the old building was taken down, stored for a while, then rebuilt to serve as an office and a nature center. The one-story, gable-roofed log cabin has vertical board-and-batten siding in its gable ends. A handsome sandstone chimney, much nicer than the old one at the gas station, is attached to one side. An expansive gabled front porch that formerly sheltered gas pumps now shelters visitors.
